Initial Tests

02/18/20

First time testing, using Taylor K-2006.

Wondering how much I got right.

Results

Chlorine

2 Dippers R-0870 (note to self - use correct end of dipper stick!)

14 Drops R-0871 x0.2 = 2.8 FC

pH

What's the correct way to do this?

Against the sky - 7.6?

Against white fence - 7.4?

Or was that cardboard in the K-2006 not just packing material?

TA

25 mL R-0007/0008

9 drops R-0009 x10 = 90 TA

CH - Calcium Hardness

25 mL R-0010/0011L

31 drops R-0012 x10 = 310 CH. 2 more drops didn't increase the "blue"

CYA - Pure Pool Water

Undiluted Dot Not Visible

CYA well over 100

CYA - Sample Diluted 1:1

I haven't bothered with further dilutions - seems a waste of R-0013 at this point.

Diluted Dot Not Visible

CYA still over 100 (over 200?)

Other

Pool store numbers, 10 days old (2/08/20)

Strip test from the same day as the pool store test.

Another strip test today, out of curiosity. FC may have increased due to new cartridge filter allowing the pump to circulate the water But it's still just a test strip.

Almost 3 weeks old. I've learned this could be normal due to cold temperatures and the old dirty filter cartridge preventing circulation.

(was thinking they looked fresh)

Whoops

Used too much R-0870 for the first test, threw the water in pool and restarted test. It's clear now but gave me a startle!

Yes, I make mistakes. Stupid mistakes.
