pH is back on track.
Not sure what the chlorine level was when the pool guy was in charge. When I first checked it, it was 0.5. Discovered the cartridge filter was clogged, the skimmer wasn’t skimming and the only circulation was from the Polaris 280 moving around. After replacing the filter cartridge, the skimmer started working, water started circulating, and chlorine level rose to 4.0 by March 4 while I left the existing tabs to dissolve before switching to liquid.
The target FC level with CYA of 100 is 11-13. The current CYA is about 140, so what I’m still curious about is why no algae had formed while the filter wasn’t working and the chlorine level had been so low (2 tabs/week in the floater). I’m going to try to keep it about 5 for now, see how things play out.
